Monitor Audio MR4 Speaker

Innovative design from a quintessence

When designing the MR4, Monitor Audio, unlike usual, did not develop a completely new loudspeaker line. This time, the focus was on the BR series, which was referenced by proven legends, with the plan to go back to the drawing board, optimize every detail and redefine the requirements for the most optimal product.

New C-CAM Tweeter

Advanced research has optimized the appearance and properties of the tweeter, resulting in much higher efficiency and a wider frequency response. And this translates into pure and detailed sound. The Monitor Audio MR4's gold-plated C-CAM tweeter reproduces frequencies up to 30 kHz. The new, stiffer basket allows for greater control over vibration damping and resonance, which translates into more refined reflections of instruments in this frequency range.

New MMP mid-woofer

The Monitor Audio MR4 uses a phase-corrector-shaped metal dust cap borrowed from the more expensive, award-winning RS series. Focusing on creating a more rigid membrane, the manufacturer has improved the work of the entire transducer at its key points, with particular emphasis on the voice coil. Shorter coils and more efficient suspension give the transducer the ability to transmit higher frequencies more dynamically and cleanly.

New Crossover

Particularly for this design, the crossovers of each Monitor Audio MR4 have been completely redesigned, using premium components in them, radically reducing distortion. Extremely clean signal transmission is achieved thanks to this. The new switches feature core coils with multi-layer steel cores and audiophile capacitors. Special attention has been paid to shortening the signal path and arranging the elements to prevent interference and noise.

New MMP bass driver

The combination of years of analysis and better materials used in its manufacture has resulted in a new, stronger chassis with a more precise drive system. The sound is now more precise, with deeper and more powerful bass down to a fairly low 36Hz. The new chassis reduces reflections from the basket arms and the redesigned suspension allows the transducer to tilt more without distorting the sound. These transducers have been specially developed for the MR series.

Brand new shell

The choice of Walnut wood colour – in particular – adds to the attractiveness of the Monitor Audio MR4. The high standard of finishing – a very beautiful vinyl veneer – allows you to look at this product with appreciation: it looks as if it were covered with natural veneer.

The Monitor Audio MR4 floorstanding speakers feature separate internal chambers for each driver, translating to cleaner mid-range frequencies. Redesigned feet ensure stability and a modern look. New, high-quality connectors ensure optimal pairing with your hi-fi system.
